Mas Vilalte

Vilalte will be our home for our 7day retreat. A spacious hamlet situated on the South-facing slopes of the massif of Mount Canigou at an altitude of 920m it offers breath-taking views over the surrounding mountains and hills. 

It is only a mile away from the famous GR10, the Pyrenees track which connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean. 

There are acres and acres of pristine forest offering adventurous trails between enormous granite boulders and ageless oaks and within the property an ancient stone circle (Cromlech) can be reached by a short walk.

Our retreat is supported by Vilalte's isolated position, the only sounds those of nature. Wild boars, Pyrenees vultures, eagles and many other wild life can be seen  here in addition to a great diversity of botanical species.  At night the stunning, starry skies can be seen, a gift with the absence of light pollution.

The ancient stone buildings dating back to the 16 century, have been totally renovated and restored to provide a comfortable stay to guests. The hamlet consists of a large mansion house and renovated barn, a newly constructed, spacious, yoga/mediation hall with a grass roof  and infra-red heating. The property includes several dry wall terraces, where fruits and vegetables are grown organically, a large infinity bio-pool with a natural and biological filtering system (no chemicals) surrounded by large decking areas, lawns and gardens. Vilalte's pure  drinking water comes from a private deep well, it is mechanically and UV filtered, while a natural spring provides for the watering of the garden.

Barcelona

Our trip will begin in the capital of Catalania, Barcelona.  We will travel by bus/train early on the 2nd Oct to Perpignan where we will be met by a shuttle bus to Vilalte. At your request I will book dormitory beds at Jam Youth Hostel; otherwise please book hotel accommodation nearby. If you are in Barcelona for a few days beforewe can explore Barcelona together and do a day trip to amazing Montserrate. Let me know if you will join this part of the trip. I also recommend staying in Girona, a fasinating historic city after the retreat.  Figueres and Cadaques, which are key Salvador Dali spots maybe reached easily as a day trip. Recommended accomodation in Girona old town for up to 6 people.

Barcelona Program  Plan to arrive in Barcelona around the 29th Sept if you want to join a exploration of the city.. it's an amazing city and there is lots to see.

2 Oct Gaudi Barcelona - Early morning walk - depart 6.30am from Jam Hostel to Parc Guell - free entry before 8am. Independently you can then wander back down into town to Casa Battlo and La Pedrera (purchase tickets in advance online).

Together in the afternoon we will visit La Sagrada Familia (please purchase online individual ticket for 1630 entry ). 

3 Oct Montserrat day trip. Depart Jam Hostel at 7.00am 

4 Oct Depart Barcelona Nord for Perpignan 8.30 Flixbus

 

Cost summary  800 - 1000 Euro + $850 AUD yoga/admin

There are various different room options (single/doubles/triples +/- shared or private bathroom), which determine price. I will confirm price with room booking.

Includes:

Accommodation, meals, use of yoga shala and facilities

Min 5 hours of Yoga classes daily with one rest day for a day walk

Transport – Transfers to and from Perpignan train/bus station. There is also an airport in Perpignan with links to the UK; but transfers will be at your separate expense.

Excludes:
International flights
Accomodation and expenses either side of retreat – ie. Barcelona, Girona, etc.. 
Travel insurance (compusory) – also that covers in the event of travel delays and cancellations
