Yoga Teachers

Jamie Denham

Jamie started practicing yoga in 1987 while doing a Fine Arts Degree in Norwich, England. After finishing his degree yoga became as important as painting and as time past, became his main passion. For many years he travelled worldwide, dedicated to self study and yoga practice. His influences have been broad including the stronger styles of yoga – Iyengar and Asthanga. He has practised with many of the worlds senior yoga teachers across the United Kingdom, Europe, India, Thailand and Australia.

In 2002 he came to Australia to do the Yoga Arts (Byron Bay) nine month intensive teacher training, with Louisa Sears. His presently commitment to further study and continuing professional development has lead him into Iyengar teacher training, under Senior Iyengar teacher Simon Marrocco. Jamie is also a qualified Pilates instructor and has practised and studied extensively with physiotherapists that teach clinical Pilates.

Since 2003 Jamie has been living with his family and teaching in Brisbane. Sharing yoga with others brings him much happiness and joy. Mob: 0432 063 094.

Genevieve St-Cyr

Genevieve is a French Canadian who came to Australia in 2009 and gave birth to her son Sebastian in November soon after her arrival. Before coming to Australia, she studied medicine for 6 years in Canada but decided she didn't want to practice this profession.  She travelled to India, Nepal and Thailand in 2002 where she discovered the joy of yoga, and fell in love with it. She moved to London in 2004 and started her daily yoga practice, very keen to discover the exciting world of yoga asana.  She never looked back!

Shortly after arriving to Australia, she realised that teaching yoga is what she wanted to do; she couldn’t imagine a more fulfilling work that would fit perfectly in her lifestyle. She is currently enrolled in the 2 year teacher training at Yogaphysio, now entering her second year of training.  Genevieve has a lot of energy and is very enthusiastic about sharing her passion for yoga. Her love of children has lead her to start teaching  a kids yoga class at Yogaphysio.  The children’s creativity and willingness to experiment still amazes her every time she teaches a class. She also is a valuable fill in teacher that helps out in this capacity from time to time.
